You have the opportunity to watch documentary "Boris Pokrovsky» on official website of Chamber Music Theatre named after Pokrovsky: www.opera-pokrovsky.ru. The film tells about life of a former chief director of the Bolshoi Theatre, People's Artist of USSR, the former head of the Moscow State Academic Chamber Musical Theatre, which was later named after him, winner of Lenin Prize, four Stalin Prizes, and the State Prize of Russia, Professor. Boris Pokrovsky has made an invaluable contribution to the development of Russian and world opera. He has put more than 180 performances, including 40 performances for the Bolshoi Theatre, conducted the first production of the opera "War and Peace" by Prokofiev in Leningrad (1946, Leningrad Academic Maly Opera and Ballet Theatre), and also became the author of numerous monographs on art history opera directing.
