Every day Alexander the 1st would take a walk from the Winter Palace, along the Dvortsovaya quay, turned on the Prachehnie Bridge and walk along Fontanka until he reached Anichkov Bridge and after that return to the palace along Nevskie Prospect. During the times of Pushkin, all the representatives of the high class that lived in Petersburg knew about this emperor’s route and would always try to indivertibly to catch the emperor’s attention. That’s how their personal matters were settled.
