Ivan Efremov was born in 1907 in the village of Vyritza of Tzarskoselsky district in the environs of Peterburg. He was fated to live a wonderful life of the scientist – palaeontologist, traveler-geologist and the fiction writer, the author of such books as “
The mist of Andromeda”, “Tais Afinskaya”, “The hour of the bull’ and many others. His outstanding finds still decorate the exposition of the Palaentological museum, Baikal Amur Railroad was build owing to the results of his expeditions, thanks to Efremov many minerals and strategically significant deposits were found, his literature works that turned out to be quite foretelling, are still popular and actual nowadays.
His life was full of mystery and the secret of his death has not been revealed yet.
