The cycle tells about the history of Russian film music from first sound films up to the present day. The first film covers the period from 1925 to 1940, and the second, from 1940 to 1960, the third about the Sixtieth, the fourth, from 1970 to 1990. The final film of the video series is dedicated to the galaxy of film composers who started working in the new time, such as S.Kuryokhin, L.Desyatnikov, A.Sigle, A.Batagov, etc. Music in a film is not just an accompaniment for the action seen on the screen (though it used to be just like this in the early years of sound cinema and such an approach to it is dominating today), actually, it’s a most important instrument good directors, together with good composers, can do miracles with.
