Born on May 11, 1960, in Moscow.

In 1988, graduated from the All-Russian State Institute of Cinematography (film director department, M.Khutsiev’s studio). From the age of 17, worked at the Mosfilm studio. Developed from a carpenter-decorator to assistant director. Worked on such films as An Ordinary Miracle, Crew, Stalker.

From 1982, assistant director, from 1990, production director.

Prizes at the Kinoshok International Film Festival (Russia, 2001):
• award from Russian film distributors,
• People’s Choice Award for the best male role.
Prizes at the New Russian Cinema film festival in Chelyabinsk (2002):
• special prize of the creative unions jury for Garbage Man for the genre purity and professionalism,
• youth jury prize for Garbage Man for the faith in a new character to appear as a reference point for the young generation,
• special prize of the press jury to actor A.Guskov.
Prize of the directorate of the Literature and Cinema film festival in Gatchina for the director’s creative research in modern film (Russia, 2002).
Prizes of the Venetian International Television Festival (Italy, 2002):
• Grand Prix for the best television feature film,
• prize for the best male role to actor A.Guskov in Garbage Man.

1998 Classic
Prizes at the Sozvezdie festival (Russia, 1999):
• prize for the Best Lead Male Role to S.Nikonenko,
• prize for the Best Male Supporting Role to A.Guskov.1997, Fuss at the Shah Atelier.

First prize at the Vtoraya Premyera Moscow Film Festival (Russia, 1995).

1992 Money Changers
Special prize of the jury at the Comedy Film Festival Chaplin’s Golden Cane (Switzerland, 1992).

1990 Our Country House (TV)
Diploma of the State Committee of the USSR for Television and Radio for the best TV film at the first Debut All-Russian Film Festival (1990) .
