Born on August 9, 1945, in Samarkand (Uzbekistan).

In 1963-1965, studied at the Philosophy Department, Lomonosov Moscow State University. Worked as a lighting man and assistant cameraman at the Tajikfilm studio.

In 1971, graduated from Gerasimov All-Russian State Institute of Cinematography, director department (E.Dzigan’s studio).

1976-1986, Chairman of the Union of Cinematographers of Tajikistan, Secretary of the Union of Cinematographers of the USSR.

1987-1990, principal director of the Mayakovsky Russian State Dramatic Theater in Dushanbe (Tajikistan).

1990 – 1998, principal director of Pushkin Magnitogorsk Dramatic Theater.

1993 – 1998, Head of the Actor Studio at Glinka Magnitogorsk State Conservatory

Since 2004, Head of the Director studio at Gerasimov All-Russian State Institute of Cinematography.

Honorary Man of Art of Russia (2201) and Tajikistan (1987).
Member of the Nika Film Academy
Vice President of the Guild of Film Directors of Russia, member of the Board of the Union of Cinematographers of Russia.
