Moscow, 8 Nov – RIA Novosti, Elena Pakhomova. The first run of the Composer film from the Factory of Miracles cycle dedicated to professions in animated film making will take place at the Aktovy Zal on November 9, as part of the Grand Animated Film Festival.

”The cycle already has six series with a comparatively similar structure. We have about five or seven characters, the brightest figures in specific professions, and they tell about this profession, its specifics, difficulties, and share the secrets of the craft", the project’s scriptwriter Sergey Kapkov told RIA Novosti.

The Composer series features Gennady Gladkov, Yevgeny Krylatov, Vladimir Shainsky, Yevgeny Botyarov and a young composer Alexander Gusev.

According to Kapkov, each series always includes a young representative of the profession: "It’s clear that, as seen from the point of view of artists, technology has made radical progress, and the new generation works with computers. Film directors also have some new things. The same is with composers – they have synthesizers, music is partially made on a computer. But the main thing all those people say, people of different generations, is that you won’t go away from the real thing, that an orchestra is needed, that live music must be heard, and that we must return to where we came from".
There is a host in every documentary film, also engaged in the profession, who unites and comments on the stories of the characters. In the last film, Sergey Skripka plays this role, Head of the State Cinematography Symphony Orchestra.

Kapkov told that the movie will feature a lot of music played by the composers themselves, and a lot of cartoons.
"Each film ends with a sort of portrait gallery. The view is divided into two parts: one contains a fragment of a cartoon, and the other contains a portrait of the person relating to it. We did it because five or six participants are not all masters. And it’s very important to see faces as basically we know the people who stand behind the view", the scriptwriter adds.

Composer became the sixth film of the cycle. Starting from 2005, the Center of National Film studio that initiated the factory of Miracles and invited Sergey Kapkov and director Alexey Vakhrushev to work on the films, produced such films as Film Director, Art Director, Animator, Scriptwriter and The Film is Dubbed By. Running time of each film is 26 minutes.

According to the director, work on the last movie of the cycle is underway now, that will be entitled Prologue.

"We’ll run it before all the films of the cycle, and it will be a tale about what animation is, as told by common spectators, as well as famous people who are not related to cartoons", Kapkov added.

In his opinion, the Factory of Miracles project is designed to tell that Russian animation is going strong, and the impression that “it’s kicked the bucket is absolutely wrong”. The main factor indicating at its going strong is great demand from the public.

"We’ve reached the Soviet time level now in terms of film production. We make about 80 films a year, but they are not shown on TV, and film distributors are not interested in animation either as they think that it’s only full-length films that can bring profit and nobody will go to a series of short cartoons", he concluded.
